Exchange with the NRW ministers on the future of the timber industry
At the meeting of the German Wood Industry Council (DHWR) in Düsseldorf, the focus was on central topics for the wood and furniture industry. Together with NRW Minister of Economic Affairs Mona Neubaur and Minister of Construction Ina Scharrenbach, important challenges and opportunities for the industry were discussed.
The focus was:
✅ Competitive energy prices and alternative models to the industrial electricity price for the furniture and wood-based panel industry
✅ Fair market conditions and effective market supervision in the online furniture trade✅
Maintaining sustainable use of raw materials and dealing responsibly with further restrictions
✅ on use Better framework conditions for prefabricated construction with wood
✅ Simplified and more cost-effective construction through adjustments to the model building code and building type E.
Among others, our managing partner Josef Terhalle was on site for the DHWR to bring the interests of the industry into the dialogue with state politics.
