Architecture meets craftsmanship – Bochum University of Applied Sciences visits the Terhalle Group 🏗️✨
We welcomed a special group of visitors for the sixth time: around 70 architecture students from Bochum University of Applied Sciences, currently in their second semester with a focus on timber construction, visited us last week to immerse themselves in the world of modern timber construction. 🔍🏠
The day started with a presentation of our group of companies in the event hall. This not only gave the students an insight into our projects, but also into the values and development that characterize the Terhalle Group.
Justus Terhalle, Carsten Looks and Ludger Wittland then guided the group through our production areas – from timber construction to window construction and interior fittings. Particularly impressive: the high degree of prefabrication and the precision with which each component is produced. It became clear how versatile wood is as a material – and how much quality matters to us. 🪵✨
A special highlight: Tobias Lansmann-Niehaus gave the group exclusive insights into the construction of our new office building, which consistently relies on modern timber construction and sustainable architecture. A real practical example of future-oriented construction!
The tour continued to Legden to our subsidiary MWM Metalltechnik Westmünsterland GmbH. Lars van Dijk, Managing Director of MWM, personally guided the group through the company and provided exciting insights into the world of steel construction and metal processing. The students were able to experience how modern production processes work – an area that ideally complements our range of services in conjunction with timber construction.
We would like to thank all participants for their visit and look forward to many more encounters between architecture and craftsmanship – even for a seventh time! 🙌
