Circular Building with Wood – GreeNest 🔄️

In the European research project GreeNest, we at Terhalle Holzbau are working together with partners to further develop timber construction in the direction of a circular economy.

Terhalle is not only a project partner in the research project, but also commissioned with the implementation of the TU Pavilion. This means that we are involved in all project phases, from research and technical development to prefabrication and assembly on the construction site.

For the new construction of the TU Pavilion of the TU Berlin, which serves as a demonstrator, engineered timber components such as lattice girders and composite columns as well as timber frame walls and board stacked ceiling elements are currently being manufactured from waste wood. 🪵

The project shows the potential, but also the challenges, of circular construction with wood.
