🚀 Update from Münster: First major milestone reached at the Oxford Höfe!
The Oxford Höfe is an ecological and communal residential construction project by the Terhalle Group in collaboration with Temmink Bauunternehmen. To the east, the striking T-shaped former military building marks the end of the construction site. Three new buildings are being built around it, forming a green inner courtyard – the heart of the courtyards. To the west, the structure is based on the historic coach house. At this point, a new building is being constructed that is visually based on the demolished existing building. “The architecture deliberately reflects the history of the location,” explains Frank Lewers, Managing Director of Terhalle Holzbau GmbH. Façade elements such as pilaster strips are reminiscent of the old carriage gates and create an impressive combination of old and new.
The architectural highlight?
A centrally located building with commercial space on the first floor – where a bakery with outdoor dining is planned – and apartments above. This will create a lively mix of student and senior apartments, multi-family and terraced houses as well as commercial space.
Sustainability is also a top priority: The buildings are being constructed using timber hybrid construction, completely CO₂-neutral certified. Green roofs, photovoltaics, rainwater harvesting, car sharing and a sophisticated e-mobility concept make the Oxford Höfe a pioneer in environmentally friendly living.
✅ Yesterday, on 30.07.2025, the building application for the East area was submitted – a first major milestone in this project and an important step towards the start of construction in March 2026.
👉 The second milestone will follow in September with the submission of the building application for the west area, with the entire completion of the courtyards planned for the end of 2028.
