To the east, the striking T-shaped former military building marks the end of the construction site. Three new buildings are being built around it, forming a green inner courtyard &#8211; the heart of the courtyards. To the west, the structure is based on the historic coach house. At this point, a new building is being constructed that is visually based on the demolished existing building. &#8220;The architecture deliberately reflects the history of the location,&#8221; explains Frank Lewers, Managing Director of Terhalle Holzbau GmbH. Fa\u00e7ade elements such as pilaster strips are reminiscent of the old carriage gates and create an impressive combination of old and new.      <\/p>\n<p>The architectural highlight?<br \/>\nA centrally located building with commercial space on the first floor &#8211; where a bakery with outdoor dining is planned &#8211; and apartments above. This will create a lively mix of student and senior apartments, multi-family and terraced houses as well as commercial space.<br \/>\nSustainability is also a top priority: The buildings are being constructed using timber hybrid construction, completely CO\u2082-neutral certified.
