Timber frame construction

Tradition - completely modern

The timber frame construction method is a modern development of the traditional half-timbered method. We have been planning and manufacturing high thermally insulated building envelopes in our own facility since 1992. These form the load bearing construction of your whole project or extension. Due to the high level of pre-finishing, the elements only have to be assembled on site. This type of production saves time, for within a few days the shell construction has been erected and sealed. Now you have the possibility to complete your project yourself, or alternatively take advantage of our offer for the further build.

The building of the exterior and also the interior walls of a Terhalle house is decisive for the excellent insulation properties of the construction. The timber frame construction is protected on the outside by breathable wood fibreboard. Behind that the insulation and the load bearing wood construction are concealed. The thickness of the insulation can be chosen according to requirements.

In the interior, a high quality formaldehyde-free glued OSB-4 board or gypsum fibreboard with moisture control layer are installed for bracing and air-tightness. A further plasterboard covering can be installed on the OSB board or another insulation and installation layer (see sketch 1). Wood, plaster, brick or also various cladding systems can be used for the facade material.

The ceiling construction can be visible from below as wood-beamed ceiling with floorboards or not visible as covered wood floor joists, cross laminated timber or concrete ceiling. On the ceiling a floating screed with footfall sound insulation and any floor covering as required.
